Chief
Welcome to our website. I am honored and privileged to serve as the Chief of the Community Ambulance Company for 2024. For the past 74 years, we have faithfully provided 911 emergency medical services to the residents of Sayville, West Sayville, Bayport, Bohemia, Oakdale, and Cherry Grove.
Who are we? Our members embody the spirit of “Neighbors helping Neighbors.” We are your friends, family, and fellow community members. Our diverse backgrounds span various professions, but we are all united by a singular desire: to assist those in need. We have devoted countless hours to training and are always ready to answer your call for help, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Community Ambulance Co. has consistently been at the forefront of EMS procedure and technology. In the 1980s, we became the first EMS agency in Suffolk County to perform endotracheal intubation, an advanced airway procedure now considered standard practice. In 2013, we pioneered the use of therapeutic hypothermia to enhance neurologic outcomes for our most critically ill patients. Furthermore, we were among the earliest and most proactive agencies to administer intranasal Narcan, a lifesaving measure to counteract opiate overdoses.
The dedication of our members never ceases to amaze me. They step away from their families at all hours, day or night, even on holidays, to respond to a stranger’s plea for assistance.
